Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island offers a mix of complementary therapies to its patients and families to help reduce stress and enhance one’s well being. These therapies are used in conjunction with, rather than as a replacement for, a biomedical treatment. Patients and family members interested in these services should speak to their Case Manager (RN) for a referral.
Pet Therapy uses trained animals and certified handlers to provide patients, families and staff with comfort and companionship.
Music Therapy is used to address pain and discomfort, produce comfort, induce sleep and provide an atmosphere of relaxation and calm for patients and families.
Reiki/Healing Touch Therapy is an ancient Japanese healing art of “laying on hands” which utilizes the power of touch to evoke deep peace and relaxation.
Massage Therapy involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress and, to promote health and wellness.
