A New Chapter in the History of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island Opens

Several events were held prior to moving into our new home at 1085 North Main Street that provided donors, health care professionals, the general public, HHCRI volunteers and staff an opportunity to remember the past and celebrate a new beginning. These photos capture some of those moments.

Employees Kick Off Celebrations with Ceremonial Closings and Cookout

Closing ceremonies at George Street and the Hulitar Center were held simultaneously on Wednesday, May 27. The events symbolized the opening of a new chapter in the history of Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island and provided an opportunity to give closure to the legacy that the George Street and Maude Street offices hold. Staff and volunteers enjoyed a cookout following the closing ceremonies.

Healthcare Professional Night Draws a Big Crowd

On May 28, nearly 160 healthcare professionals from long term care facilities, hospitals and other health-related organizations toured the new facility.

500 People Attend Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Celebration

A standing-room-only crowd huddled together under a large tent on 1085’s parking lot on Sunday, May 31 for the Grand Opening Ceremonies. Speakers included Diana Franchitto, president & CEO; Senator Jack Reed: Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts; Mayor David Cicilline; Councilman Keith Jackson; NHPCO President Donald Schumacher; early HHCRI founder Dr. Stanley Aronson and Dr. Ed Martin, HHCRI’s Chief Medical Director.
