Tournament Details

Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island's Second Annual Golf Tournament will take place at the Sakonnet Golf Club on Monday, September 19, 2011.  Our goal is to produce a first-class tournament with proceeds benefiting our Free Care Fund. The Free Care Fund brings help and hope to the under insured or to those who do not have insurance, when time matters most.

Your day will begin with concierge services, valet parking & lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m. The four-person shamble tournament will have a 12:30 p.m. shotgun starts. We are limiting the number of foursomes to 27 to ensure a healthy speed of play in an effort to have every golfer enjoy the course to the fullest potential. In a shamble format, each member of the foursome will hit a tee shot and the best drive of the team is selected. From the spot of the selected tee shot, each player in the foursome hits his/her second shot and continues to play his/her own ball to finish the hole.

Golfers will be invited to take advantage of the “Putting Green Challenge”.  Prizes (TBA)  will be given to those who make the putt at a distance of at least 35 feet.

We will conclude the day with cocktails, culinary delights and awards beginning at 5:00 p.m. This year Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island is delighted to announce that Easy Entertaining has agreed to cater the evening’s festivities. Easy Entertaining is a personal cheffing/catering company that services Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  Working closely with Farm Fresh RI, they strive to provide tasty, healthy and seasonal meal selections using local and organic ingredients whenever possible.  The owner and head chef of Easy Entertaining, Kaitlyn Roberts, was trained formally in Florence, Italy in both International and Tuscan Cuisines. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Wofford College in South Carolina and completed graduate work at Apicius Culinary Institute in Florence, Italy.  She also has an Advanced Wine Degree from WSET in London.  Ms. Roberts looks forward to our event and the opportunity to offer our guests the best possible dining experience.
